I have to say that, although it was obvious at first glance, it was only when the refurbishment of the furniture started that the real extent of the problem became clear.
As a result of previous work, which was also carried out in a professionally unsatisfactory manner, the veins of the furniture were practically removed by unprofessional staining, and the visible defects in the woodwork were covered up by varnishing, so we started the restoration with as thorough grinding as possible. During the long and detailed process, we removed all layers, grinding the furniture back to the natural wood to achieve a perfectly smooth finish. We replaced missing veneers and then sought to restore the furniture to its original walnut colour by staining and polishing. The furniture was upholstered using traditional techniques, and the white furniture was trimmed with a special blue, twisted decorative cord.
The fabric chosen by the client and the brilliant new colour of the furniture will change the atmosphere of the room where it originally stood, turning the slightly softer character of the office interior into a more contrasting and elegant style. Here are the before and after pictures.
