Everyone knows the legendary "Beetle", officially known as the Volkswagen Beetle. The Beetle's history dates back to 1938, when Ferdinand Porsche came up with the idea to design a car for the German car manufacturer that was accessible to everyone. The first examples were made at the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg. During the design and production of the car, the aim was affordability, reliability and easy maintenance. As a result, the Beetle exploded in popularity after the war and soon became the car of choice for ordinary people around the world.

By the 1960s, the Beetle had already undergone many exterior and interior changes, but one thing remained the same: the shape. The iconic rounded lines and practical design are still as iconic today as they were then. Beetles have gone through many different versions over the decades, from convertibles to special editions, but the classic lines have always remained.

Recently in our workshop, we were proud to work on a 1960s Beetle with its seats completely reupholstered. The original seats in the first buggies were made of thick canvas, unlike the soft leather or textile upholstery of today. The front seats were quite simple, but still comfortable for the time. The upholstery was made of colourful, patterned fabrics, often in shades of blue, green or red, which added to the cheerful appearance of the car.

And today, we are happy to say that our work has given a new life to the seats on this beautiful car. We paid special attention to the timing, as the car was made for a special wedding. The client insisted on the original look and thanks to his persistence, he managed to find the original upholstery in the original material and colour, so we can say that we were left with "only" the joy of the job. I'd love to show you pictures of the car, but unfortunately, understandably, there aren't really any public pictures, so we'll have to be content with hopefully having managed to please.

According to calculations, there are still around 2000 beetles in Hungary today, but each one has a unique story to tell. And now this car, together with the reupholstered seats, will create new memories for an unforgettable day!
